(Redirected From X-fade)

From Chace Audio

A cross-fade is used to blend one piece of audio into another. During a cross-fade, the volume of the tail of one piece of audio gradually decreases, while the volume of the start of the next piece of audio gradually increases.

In this example, music crossfades into a section of dialog.

This is a graphical representation of the accompanying audio clip as drawn by Pro Tools®. The "X" marks the spot where the x-fade occurs.
