Telephonic EQ

From Chace Audio

Telephonic EQ refers to a track with a significant reduction of both low and high frequencies, leaving only a narrow band of mid-range frequencies remaining; in other words, the track sounds as if it were being heard through a telephone. If the EQ has been applied intentionally to replicate the quality of a telephone transmission it is not a problem; however, when such a severe EQ has been applied to an entire mix (often as a misguided attempt at noise reduction) it is a non-repairable anomaly.
