PCM

(Redirected From Pulse-code Modulation)

From Chace Audio

PCM (pulse-code modulation) audio is uncompressed digital audio. PCM audio can be stored as many different file types, including WAV, SD2 or AIFF. PCM audio is used as the audio source on CDs and has become a common audio format on high definition media such as Blu-ray Discs (as an alternative to compressed Dolby® Digital or DTS audio). Digital tapes such as digital Betacam, HDCAM-SR, and DTRS cassettes all have PCM audio tracks.
