Pro Tools® is a computer based DAW (digital audio workstation) manufactured by Digidesign (an Avid company) that allows for the recording and manipulation of audio files through workspace documents (or EDLs) known as sessions. Pro Tools allows the operator to record, edit, process, mix, and synchronize audio to almost any specification. Pro Tools is the most widely used DAW in both music production and audio post-production but is only one of many commercially available DAWs. |
