Pop Filter

From Chace Audio

A pop filter is a screen made of semi-transparent material that prevents the plosives, pops, or bumps that can occur when the letter “P” is pronounced during live recordings of vocals or spoken word tracks.

Pop filters are placed between the speaker/singer and the microphone and are most often mounted to the microphone stand. For those who find themselves in dire need of a pop filter but short on funds, an old wire coat hanger and a nylon have saved many a track.
