Normalize

From Chace Audio

To normalize is to make an overall level adjustment to a digital audio file (or portion of a file) to adjust its level to a pre-determined target value. Normalization does not alter the dynamic range of the program, but uniformly raises or lowers its level. It is typically used to adjust a group of audio files with differing loudness levels to a single target level so that all the files will play back uniformly.
