Near Field

Near field refers to a speaker and monitoring system designed for smaller listening environments, such as a home theater. A near field environment typically has no special playback EQ, therefore representing a direct sound reproduction from source to listener. This is different from a theatrical listening environment, which employs specific playback equalization to accommodate the acoustics of its larger space.
