The Multi-Function Magnetic Cleaning Machine (MFCM) is a proprietary device developed by Chace Audio that combines several magnetic cleaning functions to address the issues of film deterioration due to Vinegar Syndrome.

Many acetate based magnetic film assets suffer from various degrees of Vinegar Syndrome: a condition that causes film to deteriorate by affecting the stability of the either the acetate base or the magnetic emulsion of the film. Elements infected with Vinegar Syndrome can require hours of attention to prepare and clean in order to achieve an optimum transfer. The MFCM replaces the arduous task of cleaning film by hand, which saves both time and expense.
