Low-pass Filter

From Chace Audio

A low-pass filter is a type of EQ that reduces the amount of high frequency information in an audio source by gradually "rolling off" the high end, starting at a specified frequency point. Low frequencies, however, will pass through the filter unaffected – hence the term “low-pass". This type of EQ setting is commonly used to reduce hiss or high frequency distortion.
