Longitudinal Time Code

From Chace Audio

Longitudinal Time Code (LTC) is a linear stream of SMPTE time code encoded as a Manchester-Biphase audio signal. Because it is encoded as an audio signal it can be recorded to any audio capable track on a video or audiotape. LTC contains precise location information and can also be used to determine and / or resolve the speed of the tape it is recorded onto. Because of this, it is a standard component of every professional post-production video or audiotape recording.
