Kilohertz

From Chace Audio

One kilohertz equals 1000 hertz.

Hertz is the basic unit of measure for frequency. The word “hertz” comes from German physicist Heinrich Hertz and replaced the term "cycles per second.” In audio terms, one cycle is one complete oscillation of a sound waveform. 440 cycles per second will sound the musical note “A” above middle “C.”

“Kilo” is the prefix meaning one thousand. 1000 hertz (Hz) = 1 kilohertz (kHz) = 1000 cycles per second.
