Fidelity

From Wikipedia, Chace Audio

In audio, fidelity represents the faithfulness, accuracy, and ability to authentically reproduce an original source in another medium. In terms of recordings, it is the correspondence of the output signal to the input signal. For example, a recording of a consumer audiocassette from a compact disc will have a lower fidelity than the sound on the compact disc, due to the limitations of consumer audiotape.
