EQ

From Chace Audio

Equalization, or EQ, refers to the boosting or cutting of specified frequencies in an audio signal. There are several types of EQ, including high and low-pass filters, peaking equalizers, and shelving equalizers. The various EQs differ in the range of frequencies affected and the nature of how the EQ transitions from the unaffected signal to the boosted or cut frequencies.

Mixing consoles contain many knobs that control EQ parameters.
