Dolby® SR

Introduced in 1986, Dolby® SR is a noise reduction scheme developed by Dolby Labs that provided better noise reduction than Dolby A for professional use. The overall result was a wider frequency range than Dolby A and a more natural sound. It requires encoding the recording with Dolby SR parameters; decoding the playback will result in broadband noise reduction and improved dynamic range. The “SR” stands for “Spectral Recording.”
