DTS-ES

From Wikipedia, Chace Audio

DTS-ES (DTS Extended Surround) includes two variants, DTS-ES Matrix 6.1 and DTS-ES Discrete 6.1. DTS-ES Matrix 6.1 provides 5.1 discrete channels with a matrixed center surround audio channel. DTS-ES Discrete 6.1 provides 6.1 discrete audio channels with a separately recorded (non-matrixed) center surround channel. In home theater systems with a 7.1 configuration, both center surround speakers will playback the material originally meant for the single center surround channel of the 6.1 configuration.
