DA98-HR

The DA98-HR is Tascam's “High Resolution” (HR) DTRS (Digital Tape Recording System) format. Similar to the DA88, the DA98-HR DTRS format is also capable of recording eight tracks of digital audio at 44.1kHz or 48kHz on a Hi8 cassette, but at 24-bit resolution. It is also possible to record four channels of 24-bit 88.2kHz or 96kHz digital audio or 2 channels of 24-bit 176.4kHz or 192kHz digital audio.

As with the DA88, DTRS tapes using the DA98-HR format should not be considered for use as archival elements since they are highly prone to dropouts, pops, and other digital errors as they age.
