Clocking Error

From Chace Audio

All digital audio is dependent on a stable timing reference, or "clock," to maintain the integrity of the audio. Any interaction between two digital audio devices must share a common clocking reference. A clocking error is a loss of stability in the clock that causes errors in the audio such as muting, ticking, or very loud random digital noise.
