Bias Rocks

From Chace Audio

Bias rocks” is a term used to describe a low to mid frequency bumping/clanking/thumping anomaly that sounds like rocks banging together. This anomaly occurs in magnetic film or tape and is most likely caused by defective stock. Bias rocks usually occur in a very dense, rapid fashion and are virtually impossible to remove or repair.
