Cans

There's something to be said about using cans and string to communicate when you're three years old, but adults tend to be more particular about sound quality. Headphones are the tools grownup audio engineers reach for when they want to put sound directly into their ears - not ear buds nor the sort of earphones that gently dangle near the ear canal, but full on speakers that envelope the ear and focus high fidelity audio directly into the brain.

Although audio engineers prefer headphones as their direct-to-ear audio delivery system, for some reason the term "cans" has stuck around. Maybe audio engineers are just big three year olds at heart.

So much more satisfying than a set of earbuds.
